Scenic Drives – Mt Pinos Hwy

Mt. Pinos Highway

This shorter roadway runs from Mil Potrero Highway in Cuddy Valley at about 6000′ to a parking area near the summit of Mt. Pinos at about the 8300′ level. In winter, the area is popular with cross country skiers and snow play. In summer, mountain biking and hiking are quite a lot of fun here. Parts of the trails follow abandoned sections of the roadway near the McGill and Mt Pinos campgrounds. The parking lot is used for “star parties” all times of year as the area is a fair distance from most cities and is a fairly high elevation.
