This photo shows the lower segment of Lake Hughes Road. This is very typical of the alignment built to bypass Castaic Lake in the early 1970’s. The old highway is underneath Castaic Lake. This road rejoins the old road at the base of the narrows of Elizabeth Lake Canyon.
