About State 115

State 115 is a simple connector that serves a mostly agricultural area in the eastern Imperial Valley. An abandoned railroad trestle from the former Holton Interurban Railway can be seen crossing the Alamo River to the north of the highway. The river was also one of the channels the Colorado River used during the 1904-1907 floods that filled the valley creating the Salton Sea. A portion of the highway, from Interstate 8 to just west of Holtville was former US 80.
