About the Drive
This road is a scenic alternate to Lake Henshaw from State 79. It traverses Mesa Grande, a small flattish highland area west of Santa Ysabel. The road also connects with Black Canyon Road, a mostly dirt road that heads south towards Ramona and Lake Sutherland. If you’re traveling by motorcycle, use caution at the northern end of the road as there are many curves with sand and gravel covering the road on a regular basis.
