Soledad Canyon Road
Canyon Country was first developed in 1961, then known as “North Oaks”. The name Canyon Country was established in 1968. However, settlements in the area date back to as far as 1876, such as Sulphur Springs to the east. Other than the 1972 realignment at the river and widening to six lanes, Soledad Canyon Road remains much the same alignment as it did when US 6 and State Route 7 ran this way.
