Solemint Junction gets its name from the intersection of Soledad and Mint Canyons. This intersection has changed quite a bit since 1938. This photo best demonstrates what it looked like back then. It was taken in 1962 and is looking east. It is here that you now enter Mint Canyon. Soledad Canyon Road is the vertical road, Sierra Highway is the horizontal road.
