Mint Canyon
Davenport Road
Here at Davenport Road, Mint Canyon narrows quite a bit due to a change in geology. South of here, the hills are composed of mostly Miocene sedimentary rock. North, starting at the Narrows, the rock changes to mostly Paleozoic metamorphic rocks, which are more resistant to erosion. Many mines and old highway alignments can be seen along the side of the highway through here.
